  • Solar System:  There is an array of 72 solar panels (285 watts each).  These panels are south facing for optimal sunlight exposure.  There is a 10 feet wide x 16 feet long building which houses several banks of batteries and inverter system.  A diesel powered generator automatically starts and charges the battery bank if there are extended days of cloudy weather.  There is an elevated 250 gallon diesel storage tank that provides fuel to the back-up generator.  Additionally, there is a battery monitoring system inside the home that provides current battery voltage level, amps and battery % full.
