Location: This property is located at the top of Kiamichi Mountain in Southeastern Oklahoma in a very remote and secluded wilderness type setting surrounded by miles of privately owned timberland. The property is roughly 4.5 miles West of the 1.5 million acre Ouachita National Forest area which offers great hunting opportunities for whitetail deer, eastern wild turkey, black bear, wild hog and other small game species. Broken Bow Lake and the Kiamichi River are a short drive from the property and provide some of the best fishing in Oklahoma. Sardis Lake, Cedar Lake and Wister Lake State Park are only minutes away as well. The property is about 9 miles SW of the town of Big Cedar, Oklahoma. Wister Lake State Park is about a 16-mile drive. Access: This property is accessed by traveling 8.7 miles down a dirt road known as K-Trial, which follows the top of the East/West Kiamichi Mountain Range. K-Trail has a rocky base and offers all-weather access. A high clearance vehicle and 4WD is recommended. To reach the property, turn west onto K-Trail at the Three Sticks Monument that is located just South of Big Cedar, Oklahoma on the West side of Hwy 259.
Off-Grid Homestead: At the crest of Kiamichi Mountain, are several structures that were once used as a remote off-grid homestead for several years. These structures have weathered with time and are in need of repairs. There is a main cabin, well house, chicken house and storage building. There is a cleared and terraced area that was once used for a garden. This property is almost completely covered with mature timber that is native to Southeastern Oklahoma including a diverse variety of oak trees, eastern red cedar and a scattering of native shortleaf pine timber. The property terrain varies from flat at the crest of Kiamichi Mountain (2400 ft) to very steep with the North property line having elevation of 1700 feet. This elevation change provides amazing mountain and valley views from the homestead location.
